Movie Review: X-Men Origins: Wolverine

This is a tough one… I went to see this film with my brother and cousins last night and I really had blind faith that it would actually be watchable… The good news, it was a decent action flick… The first 45 minutes was very well done, loved it… I am a huge comic book fan and growing up the three books I read the most were Punisher, Batman, and Wolverine/X-Men. So the last hour 15 minutes or so… not so hot… The pay after the credits, a move Marvel films loves to do with their films, was completely not worth the 10 minute scroll.

Its hard to separate what I know about this character and the Marvel universe, and the film adaptation. Again if you want to enjoy a popcorn, non-thinking film with some pretty decent effects, then this is a decent movie… Its not Ironman, and it sure as hell isn’t Batman: The Dark Knight, but its much better then latest crap Punisher movie (Marvel has killed one of the most dynamic and dark characters in their arsenal with the three incarnations of so-called films based on Frank Castle, what a shame.)

The PG-13 rating hurts, Wolverine is a killer, this film once again focus on peace & love… The actress they chose to play the love interest is one of the worst actresses I have ever seen in a non-XXX film. Hugh Jackman & Liev Schreiber are incredible and perfect casting matches for the roles they play.

Looking forward to Star Trek this Friday… anything JJ Abrams does I will watch, the man is incredible and really knows how to tell a story. Until then, let me know what you think/thought of Wolverine… I am wondering where we are going with this series…
